Welcome to Dublin
As Ireland's capital, Dublin is a major tourist attraction that lures visitors in with its gorgeous displays of nature, vibrant nightlife and array of intriguing historical sites. In fact, it's long history and Celtic culture are two of its biggest draws. Dublin was originally established in 841 A.D. when Viking settlers declared the land their home. Throughout its existence, control of the locale has changed several times, with the most notable rulers being the Danes in the 9th century and English between the 14th and 19th centuries. Its rich history can be seen in the Medieval castles and Georgian architecture scattered about as well as the patriotic pride of the locals (it's a big taboo for tourists to talk poorly of Ireland).
During a visit to this unique city, travelers will notice the stunning displays of nature that enhances the urban landscape. The River Liffey runs through the metropolis, and the Dublin Mountains surround the locale, offering a panoramic view of snow-covered peaks. There are also a variety of parks and other open green spaces, botanical gardens and shimmering waters along the bay. Additionally, visitors enjoy the delightfully mild coastal climate, which is kept pleasantly cool thanks to the Gulf Stream and Atlantic Ocean.
