The Government owned Airport CHIOS, is found in the coastal area of Eastern department of island, in southern utmost the city and in distance of 3 kilometers from its center.
Its operation began on 4 August 1969, with the landing of plane of OLYMPIC AIRWAYS, flight 560, and today serves the passenger movement of interior and flights of abroad during summer season.
The building infrastructure of airport of is total surface 800 m2. The orientation of corridor of landing of is 01-19 length 1500m and width 30m. The flooring of quartering has dimensions 100 H 60 m.
In the Chios airport functions two Navaids in the region of Airport (NDB and T/VOR/DME) and a en-route navaid in Mesta region (R/VOR/DME/MES).
