Milan Malpensa International Airport
Basics Milano-Malpensa is 28 miles (45 km) northwest of Milan. There is a tourist information office in the central rail station. Both Malpensa and Linate airports can be accessed through the Milan airports' Web site, which offers the following:

Taxi Due to the distance to the city, a taxi is very expensive. The fare to the center can be up to 110,000 lira ($60). The travel time will be around 40 to 80 minutes.
Malpensa Express The shuttle train, Malpensa Express, runs between Terminal 1 and Milan Cadorna Station. The 40-minute trip makes intermediate stops at Milan Bovisa Politecnico and Saronno. Trains run every 30 minutes throughout the day.
Bus There is regular bus service from Malpensa to Porta Garibaldi Station and Stazione Centrale (central rail station). From the central station it is easy to get a taxi to your final destination. The buses run about every 1/2 hour from 6 A.M. to midnight. The fare to the central station is around 13,000 lira ($8) and the travel time will be about 1 hour.
Rental Car Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, and Maggiore are at the airport. Some have offices at the central rail station.

Airport Facts
Malpensa International Airport is one of two main international airports in Italy. Malpensa is located in the province of Varese, near Milan to which is connected by the Milano-Varese highway as well by a dedicated train, called "Malpensa Express" (from Cadorna Station). The airport has the IATA Airport Code MXP and the ICAO Airport Code LIMC. Service buses connect Malpensa to the Milano city-airport Linate (IATA Airport Code LIN). Malpensa is the main hub of Alitalia, the Italian national flag carrier. This airport connects Milan and Lombardy with the rest of world.
Malpensa International Airport has two terminals, T1 for commercial traffic and T2 for charter and low-fares traffic. The T1 has two satellites: A - National and european traffic; B - International traffic. The third satellite (C) is under construction. There is also a dedicated cargo-terminal, called "CargoCity".
