Passenger check-in takes place on the 2nd level of the terminal. Please, contact your airline to clarify check-in time. At check-in, please, note the list of articles prohibited in the aircraft cabin. The articles are permitted in the checked baggage.

Tax Free Shopping sign and brought out of the country takes place in departure area, airside. To receive refund present appropriate receipt marked by customs officer.

There are three cafes in the public area of the terminal. One is located in arrival area on the 1st level and one on the 2nd level of the terminal. The menu of those includes a variety of salad, toast, main course, coffee, tea, juices, soft and strong drinks.

Restaurant has been opened on the third level of the terminal.

Airport Facts

Riga International Airport is located about eight miles (13km) southwest from Riga, the capital of Latvia. Its IATA airport code is RIX. It is the largest airport in the Baltic states and is directly connected to 24 countries: Sweden, Finland, Great Britain, Ireland,Germany, Austria, Denmark, Estonia, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Poland, Israel, Turkey, USA, Spain, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Norway, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Belarus, Russia. Renovation and modernization of the Riga International Airport ended in 2001, coinciding with the Riga's 800th anniversary. The airport is a state-owned joint-stock company, with the owner of all shares being the Latvian government. The holder of state capital share is the Latvia's Ministry of Transport.

Riga International Airport is one of the three notable airports in Latvia. The other two are the Liepaja International Airport and the Ventspils Airport. Riga International Airport's biggest air carrier is airBaltic.
