Vienna International Airport
Airport Hotels, Airport Car Rental, Parking, Maps, Flights and Airport Information

Vienna International Airport

The airport is located 11 miles (18 km) southeast of the center of Vienna. There is a tourist information office in the arrivals hall. The English version of the Web site has useful information, including:

  • A map of the Departure and Arrival areas
  • Information on Bus, Rail, Car, and Parking access
  • Updated information on plane departures (which links to arrivals)

Taxi
Taxis are available outside the arrivals area. The fare is metered and will be about 360 Austrian schillings ($28). Travel time to the center is about 20-30 minutes.

Bus
A very good bus service goes from the airport terminal to the city air terminal right next to the Hilton Hotel (Stadtpark) and to Westbahnhof (West Rail Station) and Südbahnhof (South Rail Station). From those stops it is a short taxi ride to most destinations in the city. If you are staying in a city center hotel, like the Marriott (walkable with light luggage), you would go to the city air terminal and take a taxi to your final destination.

Buses run from 6 A.M. to midnight with departures every 20 minutes from 7:30 A.M. to 11 P.M. The fare is about 70 Austrian schillings ($6) and you pay the driver when you board. This is a very convenient way to the city, almost as fast as the taxi, but a fraction of the cost.

Train
A train runs between the airport and Vienna from about 5 A.M. to about 10:30 P.M. and costs 38 Austrian schillings ($3). A schedule is posted on the airport Web site.

Limousine
If you wish, your hotel can book you a limo. The cost from the airport to the Hilton is about 450 Austrian schillings ($35). Call beforehand to make this arrangement.
