Greater Moncton Intl Airport Information
Located in the hub of the Maritimes, the Greater Moncton International Airport (GMIA) is New Brunswick's only international airport and has a vibrant passenger market, serving more consumers within a 2.5-hour drive than any other airport in Atlantic Canada.
Since its privatization in 1997, the airport has grown significantly both in passenger (125% increase) and cargo (72% increase) traffic.
The airport has experienced such a tremendous passenger growth, which has resulted in the construction of a new state-of-the-art terminal building. The thematic design of the building was inspired by the province of New Brunswick, one of the most beautiful regions in Canada. Its citizens are known world wide for their warmth and friendliness.
These traits, coupled with the natural resources indigenous to this part of the world, like wood and water as well as natural attractions like the Tidal Bore and the Hopewell Cape Rocks provided the inspiration for the design of the building.
The 85,000 sq.ft. terminal includes 22 check-in counters, passenger lounge, retail shopping, food service outlet, underground parking and customs and immigration facilities.
The Greater Moncton International Airport offers a variety of parking facilities to meet all our customers' needs. All parks operate 24 hours and are security patrolled.
Picking up and dropping off passengers at the airport
If you are picking up or dropping someone off at the airport, there are designated areas located at the arrival and departure entrances in front of the terminal building. Please note that these areas are for immediate pick up or drop off only, and vehicles must not be left unattended. Short-term parking is available if you need more time for picking up and dropping off passengers.
Parking for persons with disabilities
Designated parking spaces for persons with disabilities are available in all our parking areas.
Short-term, underground parking is available. If you require assistance with designated parking, please call 506-856-5444 or 506-856-5421 (Airport Security).
The Greater Moncton International Airport (French: Aéroport international du Grand Moncton) or Moncton/Greater Moncton International Airport (IATA: YQM, ICAO: CYQM) is located 4.0 nautical miles (7.4 km) east northeast (about 10 minutes) from downtown Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada in the neighboring city of Dieppe.
The GMIA is undergoing rapid growth with air traffic more than doubling between 1997 and 2004 (64,942 landings/takeoffs and greater than 499,855 passengers).
