The air terminal complex also includes short-term and long-term parking. The Nanaimo Air Terminal handles an average of 120,000 passengers and an estimated 650 tons of air cargo and freight annually.

Airport Facilities & Services
The Nanaimo Airport offers a broad range of airport facilities and services built around a 5000 foot runway and parallel taxiway system. Approach facilities include a Stand-Alone Global Positioning System (GPS), Distance Measuring Equipment (DME) and a Non-Directional Beacon (NDB), as well as a newly installed Omni Directional Approach Lighting (ODAL) system. Air traffic advisory and weather services are provided by the Nav Canada - Nanaimo Flight Service Station from 0530 to 2130 hours daily. Canada Customs services are available at the airport on a 24 hour on-call basis.

The Nanaimo Air Terminal was completed in 1991 and serves as the primary air passenger facility for the greater Nanaimo area. The air terminal handles an average of 120,000 passengers and an estimated 650 tons of air cargo and freight annually. Other air terminal amenities include a cafe, car and truck rentals, taxi and shuttle bus transportation and vehicle parking.
