Part of the National Airports System, the airport is owned by Transport Canada and operated by the Greater Fredericton Airport Authority.
The airport has two runways, one of which is the longest in New Brunswick. The community and the airport have been experiencing tremendous growth and economic development. Of the three major New Brunswick airports, Fredericton Airport experienced the largest percentage growth in 2004.
