Airport Departure Fee
Airport departure fee are assessed for International destinations of USD$23,00 (Nafl 41.40) and USD $6.95 (Nafl 12,50) for domestic destinations. Children under the age of two (2) are exempted of payment. Domestic destinations are Bonaire and St. Maarten.

You can find the airport departure fee counters in the corridor near the Security office and the entrance to the departure hall.

The airport departure fee is incorporated in the ticket price for passengers traveling with:

  • American Airlines
  • American Eagle
  • K.L.M.

These passengers do not have to separately pay the airport departure fee.

Check-in Time
We recommend taking into consideration a check-in time of at least two (2) hours prior to departure for long haul destinations.

Customer Information Desk
Our customer information desk is manned with qualified Customer Service Representatives. They assist callers and airport visitors with questions and concerns regarding airport services, flight information, ground transportation, commuting challenges, airline support services. The customer information desk is located in the corridor between the check-in area and the entrance to the departure hall and can be reached at (599) 839-3111. For more detailed information concerning customer services programs please contact the Manager Customer Services Department at (599)839- 3230.

Currencies
At the airport Antillean Guilders and U.S. Dollars are accepted. Currencies are exchanged according to the rates as posted by the Central Bank of the Netherlands Antilles.

Parking
The parking facility with approx. 300 parking positions is located just in front of the Terminal Building . A fee of USD 2,00 per the first one hour applies. Parking is not allowed in front of the check-in area even the building.

Airport Facts

On August 1, 2003, Curaçao Airport Partners ("CAP") commenced a 30-year concession for the management, operation and maintenance of Curacao's Hato International Airport CAP is a project company formed by Alterra Curaçao Holdings, Ltd. (Bechtel Enterprises Holdings, Inc. and Singapore Changi Airport Enterprise Pte Ltd.), Trim-Invest, Ltd and Janssen de Jong Caribbean Airport Constructors.

The airport area includes 650 hectares of land and has one of the longest runways in the Caribbean (3,410 meters). In 2004 the airport handled approximately 1.1 million passengers.

CAP is working in partnership with the Government and stakeholders to develop the airport as a catalyst for wider economic development and increased employment on the island.

CAP's vision is to develop the airport as the best in the Caribbean region building on its strong tourism base and connectivity to the European, North American, Latin American and Caribbean markets. A key focus is to create an environment to develop a regional logistics and distribution centre for freight, with the necessary ancillary facilities to attract and support aviation and business park tenants.

CAP is underway with a capital improvement program of approximately $60 million including a new passenger terminal building opening in May/June 2006. The new terminal is designed in the initial phase to accommodate 1.6 million passenger per year in accordance with IATA Level of Service standards "C". The facility has been designed with the infrastructure to handle 2.5 million annual passenger with building space expansion.
CAP has an affiliated company, CARE, that has a 30 year lease to develop approximately 400 hectares of adjacent commercial property into an "Airport City."
