Norman Manley International Airport

Kingston's Norman Manley International Airport (KIN) is the major gateway linking the country's capital city

to destinations worldwide. It is located on 228 hectares on the Palisadoes peninsula in the southeastern part of Jamaica, in close proximity to the historical site of Port Royal, and is approximately thirty minutes away from the main business district of New Kingston.

The airport facilitates international and domestic traffic and in 2001 passenger thoughput at KIN was approximately 1.6 million. Given its proximity to Kingtson, one of the Caribbean's leading commercial and industrial centres, KIN is of significant importance to the business community and is the primary airport for business travel to and from Jamaica. In addition, the airport accounted for 72% (or 19 million kilos) of freight handled by Jamaica's two international airports in 2001.

Passengers are encouraged to arrive at the airport at least two hours ahead of the scheduled departure, to allow sufficient time for processing.
