Quesnel Airport

The Quesnel Regional Airport is situated in North Quesnel between Highway 97 and the Fraser River. Pilots can locate the Airport two nautical miles from the City's center, 55 nautical miles south of Prince George and 55 nautical miles north of Williams Lake.

The Airport was opened in 1942 by Transport Canada. In 1968 the first air terminal building was constructed to accommodate commercial airlines that began serving Quesnel shortly thereafter. By the late 1980s, the increasing levels of air travel and general airport activity had outgrown the original terminal and a new building was required. An impressive new terminal, fashioned in a Classic Cariboo style, was designed and opened in 1993.

On April 1, 1997, the ownership and operation of the Airport was transferred from Transport Canada to the City of Quesnel. As a major City department, the Airport will continue to grow in both size and importance, and will expand its range of airside and air terminal services provided to commercial airlines, private flyers, businesses and the travelling public.

The Airport Manager is available during regular business hours to answer general inquiries and to provide information on leasing, licensing and fee schedules.
