Sharjah Airport
Mosque Prayer areas are available at the Airport Main Passenger Terminal Transit Area and at the Departure Area (Ground floor). Mosques are located in both East and West Cargo Terminals 1 and 2.
Sharjah Airport Travel Agency (SATA) SATA joined the BSP (Billing & Settlement Plan) of International Air Transport Association (IATA) recently. This will help provide more facilities to travelers getting their airline tickets through SATA. Booking will be done through the automated Galileo system and tickets would be issued on the spot. It provides passengers with a faster service. This service has also been introduced in SATA's airport office.
SATA has inaugurated an implant office at the Sharjah immigration Department. This office provides another outlet to serve residents requiring travel services. The office is equipped with a Galileo reservation system to help secure confirmed seats for those travelling out of UAE.

Airport Facts
Sharjah International Airport is among the most beautiful airports of the world. It not only stands out for its striking architecture & lush landscaping, but also for its natural geographic advantages
The airport is well connected to all major international destinations. It is just 10 kilometres from Sharjah city centre and about 15 kilometres away from the Emirate of Dubai. It is also just a few kilometres away from the Emirates of Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras- Al-Khaimah and Fujairah.
Sharjah's distinguished place on the world aviation map began back in 1932 when Imperial Airways - the forerunners of British Airways - constructed an airfield here as a stopover en route to India and Australia. At that time, Sharjah ranked as one of its most remote outposts as well as being the first airport in the country. The airport provides access to the main ports of the Gulf, with direct road links to both Ports in Sharjah. The modern highways also connect directly to other Emirates City Centres, as well Airports and Seaports.
Sharjah International Airport handles at least 1800 aircraft and some 100,000 passengers every month. It has well appointed lounges where passengers can relax, as they wait for their connecting flights. Being at par with the most sophisticated airports of the world, its services and facilities are modern and advanced.
Sharjah Airport is also a very popular transshipment point especially for intermodal cargo. In fact, the airport holds the world record for the fastest transit times that cargo can be shipped into the seaports and flown out of Sharjah Airport ( 6 hours approx.). This is because Sharjah enjoys a unique advantage over the other emirates. Seaports are located on both sides of its coast. Two are on the Arabian Gulf on the West Coast of UAE and one is on the East Coast, in the Gulf of Oman making it easily accessible.
