Airport Facts

Thunder Bay Airport or Thunder Bay International Airport, (ICAO CYQT, IATA YQT), is an airport in the Canadian city of Thunder Bay, Ontario. It is the third busiest airport in Ontario, behind Pearson International Airport in Toronto and Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International Airport.

The airport went under major renovations in the 1990s which gave it a second floor, added runway and large food court, gift shop and arcade.

The airport was handed over from the government in 1997 to the Thunder Bay International Airports Authority, a non-profit organization. The airport handled over 600,000 passengers in 2004.
