Red Coat Airport Ambassadors
The Victoria Airport Authority is proud of the men and women who volunteer their time to serve as Red Coats. Named after their bright red blazers, they provide invaluable assistance to the travelling public and visitors by answering questions and providing assistance wherever they can. Our friendly Red Coats can be found at the Information Desk located across from the rental car counters in the arrivals area.

Foreign Exchange
ICE (International Currency Exchange) provides currency from all over the world for those coming from or departing to foreign lands.

Bicycle Assembly Station
A covered bike assembly station is located in the short term parking lot. Facilities include a work bench, bike stand, air pump, and storage shed for bike storage boxes.

Lost and Found
Lost and Found items that are found inside or outside the terminal building and in the parking areas of the Airport will be taken to the Airport Security Building located to the east of the main terminal building. Items may be claimed between 0800 - 2200 daily. Information regarding items may be received by calling 250-953-7511 or contacting the Airport Security Commissionaires personally at the Airport Security Building.

Other Passenger Services
All telephones have heightened transmission capabilities for the hearing impaired. Our sit down telephones provide additional privacy and have data ports to accommodate lap top computers.

A bank machine is available for that last minute cash requirement, and a parent's room for some quiet time.

The passenger departure lounge also offers a Business Center and Airside Cafe.

Free baggage carts are available inside and outside of the air terminal building for your convenience.

Airport Facts

Victoria International Airport (IATA: YYJ, ICAO: CYYJ) serves Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. It is 22 kilometres north of the city, quite close the town of Sidney on the Saanich Peninsula. The airport is run by the Victoria Airport Authority. Due to the proximity of Vancouver International Airport, Victoria hosts very few scheduled airlines.

Like most airports that are run by local authorities in Canada, Victoria International Airport charges an Airport Improvement Fee for each outgoing passenger. As of 2004, this fee was set at $5.

In 2004, YYJ served 1,249,976 passengers and had aircraft movements of 154,036. It was British Columbia's second busiest airport in terms of passengers, and third in terms of aircraft movements. Nationaly, YYJ was the 9th busiest airport in Canada in terms of passengers, and 7th busiest airport in terms of aircraft movements.
