Windsor Airport has the full range of facilities required for most private, business and corporate pilots.

There are two runways. The main runway (07-25) is 9000' x 200' instrument approach runway which was recently extended to 9,000 feet. There is a second 5150' x 150' crosswind runway.

The control tower is in operation from 0630 - 2230 local time daily, and Category 5 airport firefighting services are maintained from 06:00 - 24:00. Aircraft handling and ground handling are readily available, as are in-flight catering services, refueling, de-icing and other necessary services.

The terminal is also designed to be both "airline and passenger friendly". A larger facility than would be found in most Canadian cities its size, it has a full International Wing and resident Canada Custom facilities. Canada Customs officers are at the airport from 0800 - 2400 daily. Other coverage is available by prior arrangement. Customs facilities are capable of handling complete off-load of a wide body aircraft and offer complete Canadian Inspection Services.

Airport Facts

Windsor Airport, (ICAO CYQG, IATA YQG), is located immediately southeast of the city of Windsor, Ontario, Canada. The airport serves a mixture of scheduled airline flights and general aviation, and is a popular point of entry into Canada for private and business aircraft. The airspace above the airport is exceptionally busy because of the proximity to Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport, and IFR arrivals and departures are handled by Detroit approach control.

The airport is operated by Serco Aviation Services on behalf of the City of Windsor, is certified by Transport Canada, and operates as an Airport of Entry with Canadian customs services available. There is a landing fee for some aircraft.
